About: Allegheny Islands State Park
Allegheny Islands State Park is in Allegheny County in Harmar Township, just southwest of the borough of Cheswick. Established in 1980, the park is composed of three alluvial islands in the middle of the Allegheny River northeast of Pittsburgh. The islands have a total area of 43 acres (0.17 kmē), with one island upstream of Lock and Dam No. 3, and the other two downstream. The park is undeveloped so there are no facilities available for the public. At this time there are no plans for future development.
