About: Sight & Sound Theatres Sight & Sound Theatres has been described in many ways: 'the largest faith-based live theatre in America,' 'the Christian Broadway,' 'one of the top three theatre destinations on the East Coast' . . . and the list goes on. Each year, about 800,000 people come from across the country and around the world to experience a production at one of Sight & Sound's two theatres in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The company's purpose is to visualize and dramatize the Bible through live stage productions, illustrating truth in the same way that Jesus did, by storytelling. Sight & Sound's original musical theatre productions are characterized by the spectacular. New Press Release (Dec 11th, 2006) Sight & Sound Named Top Theatre Choice by Travelers LANCASTER COUNTY, PA : Joining the ranks of Disney World, New York City, and Italy, Sight & Sound Theatres has been awarded a 2006 Reader's Choice Platinum Award by the readers of Leisure Group Travel magazine. Readers chose Sight & Sound as first among hundreds of theatres nationwide, including Broadway. Other first-place awards were given to New York City as top domestic destination, Italy as preferred international destination, and Disney World as the premier single non-theatre attraction. Located in Lancaster County near Strasburg, Sight & Sound Theatres is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The company, which employs about 500 people, is currently presenting 'Miracle of Christmas' and 'Psalms of David,' and will reveal its newest and perhaps most ambitious show on March 30, 2007, a creation-based musical epic entitled 'In the Beginning.' Construction is also underway on the company's first theatre outside of Pennsylvania, located in Branson, Missouri.
